STORMPRO Sump Pump Switch Options Described

Question

What is the difference between a Stormpro Sump Pump with an M, SPI or I at the end of the model name?

Answer

The letter after the model number refers to the type of switch that is included with the pump.  For all of these models, the pump is identical. The only difference between the pumps is the type of switch that is included with the pump.

BA-xx-M
The “M” Indicates manual.  Manual indicates that no pump switch is included with the pump.  The pump operated by plugging the pump directly into the wall outlet, the pump can only be turned on and off by plugging the pump into the wall

BA-xx-i
The “i” indicates attached ion switch.  The float switch included with the pump is “attached” to the pump and is a digital, non-mechanical float switch.  This float switch has no moving parts and is more reliable than a mechanical switch.

BA-xx-SPI
The “SPI” indicates detached vertical switch.  The float switch included with the pump is “detached” from the pump and is a vertical mechanical float switch.  The float switch attached to the discharge pipe with a discharge pipe clamp connector. This type of switch enable the installer to adjust the location of the switch within the sump pump basin.
