Manual Transfer Switch

Add Generac's manual transfer switch to the 17,500 watt model, and you have an excellent backup power source during an outage. There is no need to waste time searching for extension cords. The manual transfer switch can be pre-wired with up to 16 selected circuits. Simply start the generator, plug it in and flip a single switch to lock out the utility and transfer the load to the generator.

The use of advanced, automotive technologies results in engines that minimize break-in periods, feature service intervals of 100 hours and have a long-run, long-life design. Full pressure lubrication provides instant lubrication to all vital engine parts at moment of start-up. Spin-on oil filter prolongs oil and engine life. Featured on 7,000 and 8,000 watt models.

Superior Motor Starting Capabilities

The 17,500-watt model can start a 5-ton* air conditioner and the 15,000-watt model can start a 4-ton air conditioner.

Superior Electrical Protection

Generac portable generators feature an electronic governor, which maintains steady speed and eliminates voltage drop when loads are applied. This, as well as the automatic voltage regulator, provides a smooth rate of electricity, which is especially important for sensitive electronic devices such as computers.

Transfer Switch

The 17.5 kW model comes with a pre-wired 16-circuit, 50-amp indoor rated manual transfer switch, power cord and outdoor connection box. This makes it easy to use a Generac portable generator to supply power during an outage. With up to 16 selected circuits already pre-wired to the transfer switch, all that's required is to start the generator and plug it in. By flipping a single switch, the utility is locked out and the load is transferred to the generator.
