Total Max 22.5 Pumping Differential - Adjustible differential from 2.5 inches to 25 inches

ION GENESIS

The Ion Genesis is a residential pump controller for use with 1 or 2 pumps.  For use with any sump or sewage pump up to 12 full load amps.  The Ion Genesis includes a redundant water level sensors, a configurable water level/pump turn-on setting, 2-pump alternation, pump failure sensing, local audible/visual alarm notification, and optional remote alarm notification

ION GENESIS Features
• Includes (1) ION GENESIS Control Unit and (2) Ion Sump Pump Digital Pump Controllers
• For use with any new or existing sump or sewage pump up to 12 fla (full load amps)
• This unit is used to operate 1 or 2 sump or sewage pumps in the same sump pit
• Automatically alternates between two pump every cycle for even wear and redundancy
• Uses redundant water level sensors with Ion Digital Level Sensing technology rather than unreliable mechanical switches.
• Cycling between pumps exercises each pump, reduces wear and increases the life span of your pumps
• Easily switch between simplex and duplex operation with a single press of a button.
• Auto sensing feature automatically selects number of pumps connected for ease of installation.
• Easily adjust pump turn-on level using front panel push-buttons and LCD display.
• Adjustible pumping differential from 2.5 inches to 25 inches - total of 22.5 inch max pumping differential
• LCD display informs user of operational status: sump pit water level height, pump turn-on set point, pump run current, alarm description.
• LED indicators enable quick visual indication of power, alarm and pump running.
• Single RESET/TEST push button for troubleshooting, adding or removing pumps from the system to reinitialize the controller.
• Intelligent controller monitors and alarms for:
       -  pump failure, pump over current, high water level, sensor communication failure, or water trending condition.
• A trending alarm would indicate the controller “sees” a pump, and has called for the pump
       -  but the water level is still rising or is not being removed from the sump pit at an acceptable discharge rate.
• Controller continually monitors the water sensors for operational status.
       -  If the sensor should malfunction or become damaged in any way, the controller will inform the user to immediately replace sensor.
• Features an alarm override circuit and switch that sounds an alarm should either pump fail
• If either pump fails, the remaining pump will take over as your primary pump
• Exclusive cast iron wheel mount assembly, stabilizes the tiller for better control
• For use with fully-automatic sump pumps or sewage pumps
• For use with 115v pumps up to 15 amps, 1 HP or less
• For pumps utilizing two-cord piggyback switch system only
• Audible alarm (80 db. @ 10 Feet)
• 9.5' Cord Length on Controller with Grounded Plug
• 20' Cord Length for both Ion Sensors with Grounded Plug
• Indicator Light – Indicate when power is on, pump(s) are running, alarm is activated
• Dry contacts for remote monitoring – optional dialer available for remote monitoring
• U.L. Listed – Made in the U.S.A

The ION GENESIS is a state-of-the-art high water alarm and pump alternator. You will never have to worry about a bad pump again because the ION GENESIS alternates between the two pumps on each cycle. This ensures proper operation, even ware and allow the pumps to exercise, thus reducing exposure to binding. If a pump should fail, the ION GENESIS’s override/alarm switch sound an audible alarm, alerting that a failure has occurred and automatically activates the next pump in sequence. If one pump is rendered inoperable, the remaining pump will take over as your primary pump. Combine your PumpGuard with an optional dialer for remote alert and an optional battery back-up system for the ultimate flood protection.

For Use With The Following Pumps

-          For use with any new or existing sump or sewage pump up to 12 fla (full load amps)
-          Operates with 1 or 2 sump or sewage pumps.
-          Easily switch between simplex and duplex operation with a single press of a button.
-          Recommended for use with STORMPRO Brand Manual sump pumps up to 12 amps max
-          This product is recommended for use with manual pumps.**
-          Can be used with any 3rd party sump pumps with a piggy back switch.*
-          When using this unit with pumps that have an existing switch.  Eliminate the existing switch that was supplied with the sump pump.
-          Auto sensing feature automatically selects number of pumps connected for ease of installation.
-          This product is for use with manual pumps only.

*If used with sump pumps that contain an integrated switch, the integrated switch must be tied in the on (up) position.
** A manual pump operates when the power cord connected to the pump plugs directly into a wall outlet, without the use of any type of switch.

The TOP Sensor

Top Sensor “ALARM SENSOR" or "HIGH WATER SENSOR” - Is the High Water Alarm Sensor and a redundant PUMP SENSOR.
·         If the Bottom Sensor (Pump Sensor) should fail, the Top Sensor will operate the pump and signal an audible alarm.
·        The Top Sensor (Alarm Sensor) enters a state of alarm, sounds an audible alarm and visual cue under any of the following conditions:
              - A pump failure has been detected
              - The water level reaches the middle of HIGH WATER SENSOR
              - A level sensor failure has been detected
              - A pump has been continuously running but the water level remains above the PUMP SENSOR for an extended period of time

The BOTTOM Sensor

The Bottom Sensor “PUMP SENSOR” or “DIGITAL LEVEL SENSOR”
- The controller will turn a pump ON whenever the sump pits water level rises above the height that is configured during setup.
        This height is adjustable.
- The controller will turn a pump OFF whenever the sump pits water level is pumped down to the bracket screw head of the bottom pump sensor (Pump Sensor).
- If there is a second pump installed, the controller is easily configured to duplex mode by a single push of a button.
This alternation keeps wear even between the pumps over time.

Genesis INPUTS/OUTPUTS

·        Digital Level (Bottom) Sensor
·        High Water (Top) Sensor
·        Power Cord
·        Pump 1
·        Pump 2 (if applicable)
·        Phone Dialer (optional)

Adjustable Differential
The ION Genesis has an adjustable differential
   - The ON POINT is adjustable from 2.5 inches to 24 inches.
   - The ON POINT can be adjusted in ½ Inch increments.
   - The minimum differential is 2.5 Inches
   - The maximum differential is 25 Inches

How To Use With Your Existing Sump Pump
For use with and an existing sump or sewage pump up to 12 amps max.
    - Eliminate the existing switch that was supplied with the sump pump.
The ION Genesis Controller Sensor will operate as the pumps main switch..

For use with an existing pump with an integrated switch
  - Tie the integrated switch(es) in the On (up) position. The ION Genesis Controller Sensor will operate as the pump(s) main switch.

How to Set the ON/OFF POINT

- Using the PUMP TURN ON LEVEL buttons, set the desired water level at which the pump should turn on.
- This level is measured in inches, up from the bracket screw head of the lower water sensor, (Digital Level Sensor).  This setting must be set below the bottom of the HIGH WATER SENSOR.
- When the water level is pumped down to the bracket screw head of the lower water sensor, the pump is turned off.
NOTE:  This setting only pertains to the lower water level sensor, and will be retained in memory in the event of a complete power failure.

How to Test the Controller Functions

It is recommended that the system be tested by filling the sump pit with water using a hose.
- The first pump should turn on and empty the pit of water.
- If a second pump is installed, filling the pit again should cause the second pump to run.

How To Test The Alarm Functions

To test the alarm functions, simply apply gentle pressure with a finger on the sensing plate through the middle hole on the underside of the top level sensor (High Water Sensor).
- The controller should cue audible and visual alerts, and engage any alarm dialer and/or external devices that may be connected for remote notification.
